The family is met at Havana airport and transferred to your hotel or casa. An evening walk along the Malecon and a welcome dinner introduce everyone to Cuba's colour and rhythm.
A fun exploration of Old Havana's plazas and the mighty harbour fortresses, with cannons and pirate history the kids will love, then a ride in a vintage convertible along the seafront. In the evening, watch the historic cannon-firing ceremony.
A free family day, perhaps a visit to a chocolate museum, the aquarium, a ride in a coco-taxi, or the vintage steam trains and street art, ending with music in a lively square.
You drive west to the Vinales valley, exploring a cave by boat, meeting farmers and oxen in the tobacco fields, and riding horses among the dramatic mogotes, a big day of country adventure.
After a final morning in the valley you cross to the beach resort of Varadero, checking in for some well-earned sand and sea time.
A family catamaran cruise with snorkelling over reefs, dolphins often in view, and a beach barbecue, followed by an afternoon splashing in the warm shallows.
A free beach day to swim, sunbathe, try kayaks and pedal boats, or take an optional trip, with plenty of downtime for all ages.
A final beach morning before transferring to the airport for your onward flight home, the whole family full of stories.

- Tourist card: Almost all visitors need a Cuban Tourist Card (visa) to enter, which we help you arrange before travel, along with a passport valid for at least six months. Requirements vary by nationality and by the country you fly from
- US travellers: US citizens and residents face specific restrictions and must travel under one of the authorised categories rather than general tourism, and US-issued bank and credit cards do not work in Cuba; we will advise you carefully if this applies to you
- Cash is king: Cuba is largely a cash economy and many foreign cards, especially those linked to US banks, do not work; bring enough cash (euros, pounds, Canadian dollars or US dollars) to exchange for local currency and cover your trip
- Currency: The local currency is the Cuban Peso. Exchange rates and rules change frequently, so we brief you on the current situation before you travel and recommend carrying cash in good condition
- Medical insurance: Proof of travel medical insurance is required to enter Cuba and is strongly recommended in any case; we can advise on suitable cover
