Day by Day
A detailed day-by-day plan for this 8-day journey.
You are met on arrival in Naples and transferred to your hotel on the coast. This evening, your guide leads a gentle briefing walk along the clifftop and outlines the week's trails, before a first dinner together overlooking the Bay of Naples.
An easier warm-up walk today to find your feet, following coastal paths around the Sorrento peninsula with sweeping views over the bay to Capri and Vesuvius. Your guide points out the wild herbs, olive terraces and hidden viewpoints along the way, with a swim and a relaxed lunch to finish.
The highlight of the week — the legendary Path of the Gods, a high mountain trail from Bomerano to Positano with the sea shimmering hundreds of metres below and views that stretch to the horizon. It is a moderate but unforgettable walk through a landscape that feels touched by the divine, with a trail lunch along the way.
Today's walk descends ancient stone staircases and coastal paths to hidden beaches and secluded coves, perfect for a refreshing swim in the clear water. Amble through the vertical village of Positano, its pastel houses cascading to the sea, with time for a leisurely lunch before the day is done.
A change of scene as you walk inland and up through the lush Valle delle Ferriere nature reserve, a cool, green world of streams, waterfalls and rare ferns hidden above the coast. The trail descends into the historic town of Amalfi, where its striped cathedral awaits.
A rewarding climb today up to elegant Ravello, perched high above the coast and beloved by artists and composers for centuries. Explore its famous clifftop gardens with their jaw-dropping views before a well-earned trail lunch.
A free day to rest tired legs or keep exploring — relax on the beach, take an optional boat trip to Capri, or wander the lanes of Sorrento at your own pace. Your guide can suggest and arrange optional experiences.
After breakfast, your private transfer takes you to Naples for your onward flight, legs pleasantly weary and memory cards full of one of the most beautiful coastlines on earth.

Know when to go.
- Passport & Visa: Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. Most nationalities require a Schengen visa for Italy — please check your own requirements and apply in good time

- Getting Around: Your trip uses Italy's high-speed trains between cities and a private air-conditioned car with driver for day tours and transfers
- Weather & Packing: Pack comfortable, broken-in walking shoes for cobbled streets, layers for changeable weather, sun protection and a light rain jacket
- Church & Site Etiquette: Dress modestly to enter churches, cathedrals and religious sites — shoulders and knees should be covered
- Dining Hours: Italians eat late — lunch from around 1pm and dinner after 8pm. Reservations are advised for popular restaurants
- Stay Connected: Local SIM cards and eSIMs are inexpensive and give excellent coverage across Italy
- Travel Insurance: Comprehensive insurance covering medical care, cancellation, delays and belongings is strongly recommended
- Pace of Travel: There is a good deal of walking at the historic sites; let us know if you would like a gentler pace and we will adjust
